BlueNative
BlueNative is a custom-built iOS and Android shell app that loads your existing site or store through the platform web view (WKWebView on iOS, WebView on Android). It's a real iOS / Android codebase, but the bulk of the UI comes from your site, so you maintain one product, not two. We layer push notifications, custom branding, and native modules on top where a particular flow benefits from them.
What BlueNative is
A custom-built iOS and Android shell. The shell is a real native codebase that we maintain; what runs inside the shell is your existing site, served via the platform's web view (WKWebView on iOS, WebView on Android).
You keep one product to maintain. The web stays the source of truth, the mobile apps stay in sync without an extra deploy pipeline. We add the things a website cannot do on its own: push notifications, branded launch experiences, deep linking, and (when a particular flow needs it) custom native modules.
What you get
- iOS and Android shell apps loading your existing site
- Custom branding (app icon, launch screen, in-app chrome)
- Push notifications (segmented, scheduled, campaign)
- Deep linking from URLs into the app
- App Store and Google Play submission handled by us
- Room to add native modules when a flow needs them (camera, scanner, offline cache, biometric auth, etc.)
- Ongoing updates and platform-compliance maintenance
How it works
Kickoff is a scoping conversation: what the source site is, what the app needs to do, what data it pulls from where, what's worth adding as a native module on top. From there, we build the iOS and Android shells in parallel, integrate push and analytics, brand the launch experience, and submit to both stores.
Most apps go live in four to six weeks. After launch, the monthly plan covers updates and platform-compliance maintenance so your app stays current as iOS and Android requirements evolve.
When a shell is the right call
- Ecommerce stores that want App Store presence and push without doubling their mobile maintenance burden
- Content sites where readers shift their time to apps but the content is best maintained as web
- Business tools that need a branded mobile presence but reuse the web product as the core
- Teams that want to test mobile demand before committing to a separate native build
If the mobile experience genuinely needs to diverge from web (a fully different IA, native gestures throughout, deep offline), a separate native build will serve you better. We will tell you when that line has been crossed.
Predictable monthly, project-based setup
Setup is a one-off engagement scoped to your site, integrations, and feature set. Everything after that runs on a monthly plan that covers updates and platform-compliance maintenance.
- iOS and Android shell apps loading your existing site
- Push notifications (segmented, scheduled, campaign)
Common questions about BlueNative
Is BlueNative a native app or a web wrapper?
It's a custom-built native shell that loads your site through the platform web view. The shell is a real iOS / Android codebase, with native features (push notifications, branding, deep links) layered on top. The day-to-day storefront stays in sync with your site because it IS your site. If a specific flow needs a true native module (camera, scanner, offline cache, etc.), we add it.
Why a shell instead of a fully native rebuild?
You maintain one product, not two. Most stores and content sites don't need their mobile UX to diverge from web; what they need is App Store presence, push notifications, and a branded mobile experience. A shell delivers that without doubling your maintenance burden. When a flow genuinely needs to diverge, we add a native module for that specific surface.
